We would like to share some exciting news!
After operating in Hull for 16 years, HSAR was able to purchase our building in 2015. Although our facility has served us well through the last 8 years, the time has come to make some necessary changes/renovations which will make our space more suitable for our important work in the community, and allow us to raise our standards with best medical practices in mind.
To complete this project in full, we need your help! Please consider contributing to our cause by making a contribution toward the renovations. You can send a donation to us via PayPal by clicking the button below and typing Renovation into the note field. A check can be sent via mail to: HSAR at P.O. Box 787, Hull, MA 02045, please write Renovation in memo field.
We will be closed to visitors for 3-4 weeks and hope to reopen by late October. We do have some beautiful cats in foster homes which you can find by clicking on adoptable cats in the menu bar above.

We can't wait to share our new space with you and to continue our mission of providing temporary shelter for homeless cats and kittens in Hull and surrounding communities, until they can be placed into loving forever homes.

Shelter Shift Volunteer: Responsibilities include cleaning the shelter, exercising and socializing animals, and feeding cats and kittens. We have morning and evening shifts.

*Recycle Team: Volunteers are needed to pick up redeemable bottles and cans from bins around town. Then bottles and cans can be sorted and brought to the local redemption center.
Pet Fostering: We are always in need of temporary foster homes for newborn kittens, cats who need special medical attention, and homeless cats. Foster parents are needed to house, feed and care for these animals while we try to find them new homes. This commitment can range from 8 –12 weeks.
Donation Drives:Help us contact area businesses and service organizations to obtain donations of much-needed pet products such as food, litter and grooming goods.
Event Planning/Fundraising: Since our organization is non-profit and receives no financial support from the government, we rely upon our fundraising events to help us generate community awareness and finance our various programs.
Grant writing: Grants are one of the most important means of financing a non-profit group’s endeavors. We need help researching grant opportunities and submitting grant proposals.
Newsletter: Help us put out a monthly newsletter, in both electronic and printed form! We need people to submit articles, solicit ideas and coordinate overall production. This will require about 10 hours per month and will require solid computer and internet skills.
